Aaron Feuerstein In this paper I will discuss Aaron Feuerstein, the third-generation president and CEO of Malden Mills Industries, Inc., who leads the Lawrence, Massachusetts business with his fathers and grandfathers values: kindness, justice and charity. He does this through his charismatic leadership and vision, which binds his employees together into realizing and achieving the same goal. I will show exactly what makes him a leader in the modern business setting and explain why a leaders vision is important in defining a true innovator, effective manager and charismatic leader. Feuerstein and Malden Mills had a history of taking care of its employees. Workers salaries average $12.50 an hour compared with the textile industrys average of $9.50. And in the 1950s, when other New England textile manufacturers fled to the South for cheaper labor, Malden Mills stayed. Although Feuersteins hands-on management style has always been admired by his employees, what set him apart as a true leader was a near disaster in the winter of 1996. While celebrating his 70th birthday, Feuerstein received word that his 130 year old family owned textile company in Lawrence, Massachusetts was burning to the ground. Three of its manufacturing factories that produce the popular high-end outdoor apparel knits, Polartec? and Polarfleece?, were reduced to charred metal and brick. While watching the fire, Feuerstein decided that he must come up with a plan to not only save his company from financial ruin, but decide the fate of over 3,100 employees that would soon be without a job. He ch ose to rebuild the plant in Lawrence. He also decided that if he was to continue providing a quality product to consumers, he would have to take care of the skilled laborers who made the product. Feuerstein kept more than 1,000 jobless employees at full pay and medical benefits for three months until the factories were up and running again. What kept Feuersteins company at the top was his strong managing skills. A top management position requires motivation to achieve, but this motivation may be directed to achieving personal, rather than organization goals. Feuerstein believed the role to top management should be to manage and the most important resource they must manage is the people that work at all levels of an organization. Their role should not be to rule, but to lead. Feuerstein also understood that employees form the foundation of any organization, and that all of them have unique strengths that can help in achieving the companies goals. In return, employees will feel useful and are placed in a position to self-actualize or attain one's potential. When Feuerstein was asked what sets him apart from other CEO's, he responded: The fundamental difference is that I consider our workers an asset. Not an expense. I have a responsibility to the worker, both blue-collar and white-collar, I have an equal responsibility to the community. It would have been unconscionable to put 3000 people on the streets and deliver a deathblow to the cities of Lawrence and Methuen. Maybe on paper our company is worthless to Wall Street, but I can tell you it's worth more. We're doing fine. Other CEOs feel I'm sort of a stupid guy who doesn't know what to do with his excess money, he says. The quality of Polartec is what I'm selling. By treating the people the way I'd want them to treat me, they make that quality. When you do the right thing, you'l1 probably end up more profitable than if you did wrong. Feuerstein did not throw his money away. It was a well reasoned and sound leadership decision to invest millions in Malden Mills most critical asset, its workers. The contrast between this Feuerstein and the currently celebrated CEOs making 30, 60 or 100 million dollars a year by eliminating jobs and moving plants is simply astounding. Rail Transport Track SLOVENIAN RAILORADS Rail transport Is the transport of passengers and goods along railways or railroads. A railway can be broken down into two major components. Basically these are the items which move, the locomotives, passenger carrying vehicles (coaches), freight carrying vehicles (goods wagons / freight cars) and those which are fixed, usually referred to as its infrastructure. They are also divided by the number of tracks. In the beginning of the story, Winston strongly opposes the Party and their anti-memory tactics used to better control the population. Although Winston opposes the Party, he is still fearful of their power and this causes him to view the world from an extremely paranoid point of view, suspecting everyone an d trusting no one. Upon seeing a particular girl, who later becomes his lover, he thinks of her, â€Å"†¦ that she even might be an agent of the Thought Police. That, it was true, was very unlikely. Also, it was cool to see the pill bugs use their defense mechanism (it only happened once) by going into a hard circular shape when being prodded at by a paintbrush. This lab had a lot of experimental areas. The amount of water or basic or acidic solution to the paper may have affected results. For the first part of the lab, outside factors could have contributed to the results, such as lighting, vibration, or chemical residue. Also, as soon as we put all the pill bugs in the chamber, we started the lab. If we had given five minutes or so for the pill bugs to be attributed to the environment, the results would have changed. For the second part of the lab, the strength of the pH values were a big factor in forming the results, and a change in strength could be a major alteration. In addition, my group did not use the same pill bugs in the second part as we had used in the first part. Different pill bugs would have been subject to different things, and so their learned behaviors may be different, which would change the results. No two animals are the same.

On one occasion as he goes about his duties cleaning the restroom, a man in a business suit who forms part of the management approaches him and says to him, 'you should listen to me, you appear to be an intelligent fellow. For more than 15 years you have been cleaning the toilets. Why don't you try something else Do something with your life and get another job' In response, the janitor smiles and says to him, 'what And leave show business' the man in the suit cannot help but walk away and shake his head in disbelief? Few weeks go by and the janitor and the man in the suit meet gain. Just like before, the man in the suit says the same thing as before. This time the janitors seeks to question him, why he often speaks to him as he does.  Ã‚  Janitor: 'I often feel like you are putting me down when you constantly ask me to do something with my life and get anothe r job. Man in suit: I am only trying to help.  Janitor: While I understand that, I would appreciate it if you didn't ask me to get another job. I try not to let it bother me but it makes me feel inadequate. Man in suit: I apologize. Janitor apology accepted: Apology accepted. I enjoy interacting with the people I come into contact with as I do my job which is why I made fun of your comment last time. Man in suit: It was very smart and caught me off guard. I will try and be more appreciative of the job you do for us on a daily basis. Janitor: That will be very nice of you. According to Tillett, the first and the most important thing that the managers need to look into is communication skills. They need to understand how communication is carried out in their organization. Of particular significance is the way in which they communicate and how they could be teaching their employees to communicate with each other.
